How to Get The Master Sword in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Published on 13 Aug 2023

Finding the master sword is one of the most useful things you can do in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, as unlike other swords and weapons in the game, the master sword doesn’t break.

The master sword can be fused with resources to boost attacks, giving it very strong damage. As previously mentioned, the master sword doesn’t break; however, it does lose charge instead, which it regains after 10 minutes.

There are multiple ways to retrieve the master sword, but this is one solution I used to find the sword.

To find the master sword, you can complete Impa and the Geoglyphs quest by finding all of the Dragon’s Tears across Hyrule. There are 12 Dragon’s Tears to find in total across Hyrule, and each tear will trigger a cutscene once found, which are Zelda’s memories. Once you have found all the tears, you will have one more cut scene to trigger, which will reveal the location of the master sword.

Please note: You will need two stamina to retrieve the master sword, so you will need to complete 20 shrines.

You can view this map with all the Dragon’s Tears locations.
