Free-to-Play Silent Hill: The Short Message Releasing Today on PS5

During the January 2024 PlayStation State of Play showcase, Konami has officially shadow-dropped the new first-person Silent Hill game titled, “Silent Hill: The Short Message.” Silent Hill: The Short Message is available from today on the PlayStation 5, and most surprisingly, it’s free-to-play.

Silent Hill: The Short Message introduces players to a fresh perspective with a new female protagonist, offering a unique twist to the iconic franchise.

In a PlayStation blog, Konami Producer Motoi Okamoto said: “This game started as something like an experimental project – an opportunity for us to try out different things, see what worked and what didn’t, and grow and polish our horror game expertise. We also had a lot of people who were relatively new in their career but still loved Silent Hill, and who really wanted to be involved in making a horror game, so we used this as a way for our team to build hands-on experience, too.”
